Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all use of the services provided by Vrin, Inc. ("Vrin," "we," "us"), including the website at https://vrin.cloud, the Vrin platform, APIs, command-line interface, and any other Vrin-provided product or service (collectively, the "Services").

This AUP is incorporated into and supplements our Terms of Use and the Vrin Customer Agreement. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in those agreements.

Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your access to the Services, reporting to law enforcement, or other action as we determine appropriate in our sole discretion.

1. Prohibited Content and Activities

You may not use the Services to upload, store, generate, retrieve, process, transmit, or distribute any content that:

  • Is illegal, infringes intellectual property rights, violates privacy or publicity rights, defames, harasses, or threatens any person or group;
  • Contains child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or sexually exploits or endangers minors in any way. Detection of such content will result in immediate termination and reporting to NCMEC and relevant law enforcement;
  • Promotes or facilitates violence, terrorism, self-harm, suicide, or hatred against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics (race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, age, or similar);
  • Constitutes non-consensual intimate imagery or content created without the consent of the subject for sexually explicit or harassing purposes;
  • Is malicious software (viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware) or designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to systems;
  • Misrepresents your identity in a manner intended to deceive (e.g., impersonating real persons, organizations, or government officials), or generates synthetic media of identifiable individuals without their consent;
  • Constitutes fraud, phishing, or social engineering, including content designed to extract credentials, payment information, or personal data under false pretenses;
  • Violates applicable export controls or sanctions (including U.S. Treasury OFAC sanctions);
  • Generates legal, medical, financial, tax, or other professional advice that is presented to end users as authoritative without appropriate human review by qualified professionals;
  • Generates targeted disinformation intended to influence elections or undermine democratic processes;
  • Facilitates illegal activity of any kind, including unauthorized surveillance, stalking, or harassment.

2. Technical Misuse

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract source code, model weights, prompts, or proprietary algorithms underlying the Services;
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Services outside of documented APIs and rate limits;
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services, attempt to bypass authentication or rate limits, or otherwise interfere with system integrity (note: legitimate, scoped security research may be conducted under our [Responsible Disclosure Policy] — contact vedant@vrin.cloud first);
  • Attempt to exfiltrate, capture, or retain output beyond what is necessary for your own use of the Services;
  • Use the Services to develop, train, fine-tune, or evaluate any competing AI model, retrieval system, or knowledge graph product;
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Services to third parties without an applicable agreement with Vrin;
  • Exceed the usage limits of your subscription plan or otherwise consume Service resources in a manner that disproportionately impacts other users.

3. Output and Hallucination Responsibility

Outputs generated by the Services are probabilistic and may be inaccurate. You are responsible for:

  • Reviewing and validating Output before relying on it for any business, legal, financial, medical, or regulatory decision;
  • Disclosing AI involvement to your end users where required by applicable law (e.g., AI transparency requirements in certain jurisdictions);
  • Implementing appropriate human review when deploying Output in regulated, high-stakes, or consumer-facing contexts;
  • Ensuring outputs comply with applicable laws before publication, distribution, or use in decisions that affect individuals.

4. Data You Submit

You may not submit to the Services:

  • Personal data of individuals where you do not have lawful basis (consent, contract, legal obligation, etc.) to process that data;
  • Sensitive data beyond what your subscription plan permits, including without limitation: government-issued identifiers (SSN, passport, driver's license numbers), payment card data subject to PCI-DSS, protected health information (PHI) subject to HIPAA, or biometric identifiers, unless you have signed a separate agreement with Vrin (e.g., a Business Associate Agreement for PHI) that explicitly permits such use;
  • Content for which you do not have the rights to grant Vrin the license required to process it under our Terms of Use or Customer Agreement.

5. Enforcement

We may, in our sole discretion and without prior notice:

  • Investigate suspected violations of this AUP;
  • Suspend or restrict your access to the Services pending investigation;
  • Remove or refuse to process specific Customer Content that we reasonably believe violates this AUP;
  • Terminate your account for material or repeated violations;
  • Cooperate with law enforcement investigations and respond to valid legal process.

Where feasible and lawful, we will provide notice and an opportunity to cure non-egregious violations before suspension or termination. Egregious violations (CSAM, attempted system compromise, sanctions violations, etc.) will result in immediate termination without notice.

6. Reporting Abuse

To report a violation of this AUP, suspected abuse, or content that should not be on the Services, please contact:

Email: vedant@vrin.cloud

For security vulnerabilities, please contact vedant@vrin.cloud and follow our responsible disclosure guidance.

7. Changes to This AUP

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or by posting a prominent notice on the Site. Continued use of the Services after a change constitutes acceptance.
